Johann Sebastian Bach, 1971, original Jacques Hnizdovsky limited edition woodcut, hand printed, signed and numbered by the artist. Bach was Hnizdovsky's favorite composer, and instead of notes, birds take flight on the bars. Hnizdovsky's stereo system had speakers close to his studio windows, which faced the back garden, which housed a magnificent magnolia and a plum tree. The neighbor's cherry tree was full of birds, who would erupt in song, anytime Hnizdovsky played their favorite music.
